sunroof deflector brown strip

i removed my sunroof deflector and im having problems removing the brown strip underneath it. ive tried wax soap degreaser, rubbing compound (liquid) and the clay bar. PPPLLLLEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE HHHEEELLLPPP!!!!!

I too removed mine today and I have a strip that im having trouble getting rid off. It looks like it will come off but nothing works. Can anyone shed some light on this? thanks

I know on my white gxe they took it off when I got it repainted and the ring was there too they got the dirt of by compounding it but it was all scratched up from the dirt being under there and the deflector rubbing it against the paint, anyway on my freinds 96 he took it off and had the same thing, I think he ended up wet sanding it but its still not perfect. I would try a heavier compound and a wheel
