rubber seals protectorant

Does anyone have recommendations on what products to use to protect or revitalize all of the rubber gaskets surrounding our doors?
I wash it to keep it clean but know that the soap and water will eventually dry the rubber out.

A lot of people just use a water-based rubber/vinyl protectant on them. Most of the non-high shine, non-clear protectants sold out there would do, like most varieties of Armor All.

Thanks for the info. I was doing a little research and found a couple of products from Meguiars including their new NXT Tech Protectant. I think I may try that.

Go to your local BMW Dealer(parts dept.)Ask them for a tube of Gummi-Pflege.This is probably what your looking for.Ask the parts man, this is a very good product.Do not use armor all, it has petroleum in it. Ask any pro detailer.

It depends on what Armor All product you're talking about.

If it's clear and colourless, don't use it. THAT contains petroleum distillates, and it will usually give you a health warning mentioning this on the back of the bottle.

Most varieties of Armor All, 303, Son of a Gun, Mothers, Meguiar's, etc. are milky-looking water based protectants. Don't worry about these. "Gummi-Pflege" comes in a variety of forms, but they all reportedly work very well.

I've read preliminary reports that NXT may be petroleum based though, so I don't know about that one....

I've been using Meguiars "The Professional Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner 40" for all my rubber trim for a couple of months. It is not shiny or greasy. It solved the problems of the windows sticking and squeaking when going up or down. I am also hoping it makes all of the rubber seals last longer. It looks like it needs to be re-applied every couple of months. The bottle says it has UV protection and is good for under hood detailing.
I also have a bottle of Meguiars "Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant". It is for making things look shiny if you are into that sort of thing.
