I've been interested in trying that product, and if it is better than Mequiar's Cleaner/Polish, Scratch-X and 3M Swirl Remover for Dark Cars I would rather give that a try than buying a bunch of other products.
AIO is a mild pre-cleaning product (polish with some protection). Basically just a slightly stronger cleaner wax. It's not going to do much correcting and repair by itself because of its mildness.

You really don't need a whole pile of products and can probably just get away with 2 primary polishes plus wax (and glaze optionally) and be set. If you have access to 3M or Meguiar's Mirror Glaze (beige bottles) products at your local auto parts places that helps, as they have a pretty complete range of products to choose from. You basically just need 2 products: A moderate strength product like Meguiar's #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish or a Fine Cut Rubbing Compound/"Cleaner", and a swirl remover. That's just the simple answer, as there are a lot of different products to choose from, really.

Polishes like the ones I mentioned are mainly for correcting paint defects such as swirls/scratches and oxidation, but if you're washing the car regularly and keeping it waxed, then yes, it is "protected" just fine.

BTW, If you want to go all-out and do the whole polish-->wax routine, I also highly recommend the use of detailing clay first.

Thanks for the response. I have clay and find it is indespensible for getting rid of tar/bugs and any fallout.

The Maxima paint, as we all know, is like china. My main problems lie in hazing and swirls. I used Meguiars Cleaner/Wax for years, but got no results from it. Lately I have been using 3M Swirl Remover/Glaze and PUPP. Hopefully Meguiars DACP will give me a little better result in the haze/swirl area. The PUPP leaves a deep wet shine that lasts for 3 to 4 months (being garage kept).

I found that out after I bought my P21S. There is a Harley store here in Temecula where I will buy it next.

Hand apply it, paper thin coats doing one section at a time. No need to let it dry for a long period of time.

thanks prinz... well I ordered the klasse products. I gave into the desire to perfect my paint and protection... I have some questions though. My rear bumper have some scratches on it because of stupid people and their awesome parallel parking. I used touch up paint on it just to cover up the black parts. I didnt do a awesome job on it, and you can see the difference. I also have a few small small dents on my side doors from people openning their doors and not even minding my doors. Do I have to do anything about those... I dont have a lot of swirling on my car, but right now, i have Klasse AIO, Klasse SG, Meguiars Liquid Wax, and Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo.

So the process is Meguiars Shampoo, AIO, SG, then Liquid wax right? I was thinking Mother's Carnauba Wax instead of Meguiars but thats what I have now...

Oh yeah... what does clay bars do?

Where is a good place (read cheap) to buy Klasse stuff online? Also, I've been looking at a water based non-greasy (dry to the touch) engine detail spray. I like poorboys (haven't tried it but it looks good).

http://www.poorboysworld.com/bold-bright.htm

Where is somewhere I can get AIO and something like the poorboys Bold-N-Brite to save on shipping?

Heya Prinz,

Just occupying myself with some less expensive hobbies, still trying to keep the car clean though Maxima.org is not good for my love life, not that that's cheap either haha.

I wouldn't use a liquid wax over Klasse. A paste has less chance of dissolving it, but make sure it's not a cleaner wax. See if you like it with Klasse alone first though, then start playing with it.

Clay removes gritty contaminants off the paint. Highly recommended, but if you don't know about doing this, start another thread or just look in the last few pages if anyone else has asked (I'm sure someone must have...). It usually goes: wash, clay, polish, protect.

Well, of course you have to rub it at some point to buff it off.... :gotme There's recently been two methods for buffing off SG. In one you apply it and wipe it off almost immediately, before it has a chance to dry. The other method you let it dry thoroughly before you try buffing it. Apply it as thin as you can (almost invisible). In between these two "windows", it will just be a pain to remove.

Honestly, I don't think you should use more than that. There's an old saying for applying Klasse, and it's almost an exaggeration, but not by much! "If you can see the SG after you've applied it, then you've used too much." Dampening the pad with a mist of water or QD helps you acheive really thin application.

It's a lot like Zaino in that respect. You want the coats as thin as you can get them. With practice, you can probably be getting 4 or 5 coats out of an ounce...

PS: It's a good idea to pour some of it into a smaller, handier container with a flip spout or something.

they have it for 14.95. dont know about shipping though

Bman - again thanks. I was reading the instructions, and I was just a bit skeptic on how 1 oz can work on the whole car. Ill try dampening the towel a little, and then adding the SG. thanks a lot.

One ounce is enough to do an entire car. Like Bman said, you shouldn't be able to see any on the surface after it dries. I know from experience....if you can see any of it dry to the white stuff, it's too much...and then it's a bietch to remove.

Use a round foam wax applicator disc. Meguiar's is most common (yellow), but they're pretty common and cheap items.

MF will soak up too much product.

the klasse aio and sg is friggin awesome. just did it yesterday, took me 4+ hours washing and detailing. It kinda sucked though... I didnt have time to let the SG cure for 24hrs... it started to rain and snow in boston, so I had to wipe it off on the 18th hour..... is that ok?

Im probably going to apply another layer of SG.

One more question... did anyone notice any difference with and without the carauba wax?? Im thinking of applying it, but from what Bman said before..... just making sure. Again, thanks for telling us about these products!

I dont think you should leave the SG on the car for 24 hours...you need to let it "cure" ... put it on, haze, then wipe...then wait 24 hours then put on another coat...

Correct me if im wrong though wouldnt having 24 hours worth of SG on your car collect alot of sh*it, dirt and cra* ??

I have the stuff waiting in my room so maybe i have more to learn ??

Yes, you're right.

You might want to wait longer if it's really cold and humid. Then you apply the next coat of SG and wait 24 hours again, and so on, and so on....
Sorry, but I forgot to mention that part I added in bold above. I hope that didn't cause any confusion.
