what are the steps in removing scratches

i have some scratches on my max and i want to kno the exact procedure in doing this.....i heard of a 3 step process thing...not familiar with this process.....can someone help me.....

How deep are the scratches?

If you lightly pick at the scratches and your fingernail catches on the scratch, it's probably best to try and round it off a bit with a moderate strength polish, and then leave it since it's too deep to remove without compromising the paint.

i had some little scratches from things like zippers rubbing against the paint, i used some scratch-x, then finished it off with some nxt generation wax and they never came back. for the deeper scratches like bman was describing, i leave them alone

The 3-step you are talking about is from Meguiar's. It is great!

three different bottles
They say 1,2, 3 on them
They are maroon in color.
If the scratches are pretty deep, you will want Meguiar's heavy cut cleaner, then use the three step process.
The heavy cut cleaner will leave swirls in your paint, but the fine cut cleaner should get them out. Then, just polish and cover it and protect it with the wax.
There you have it.
