anyone use a buffer here??

i was thinkin about waxin the max with a buffer until my friend said that its VERY dangerous for the paint and i could damage the paint EASILY and that i should leave this to the pros. anyone here used a buffer before? any experiences u want to share??

yeah i use a buffer everytime. most people here have the money fo a porter cable buffer but i got a cheap one. i can't see how it would mess up the pain. i would suggest getting one to apply the wax. if you a really nervous about it buff it off by hand but i use it for both. on and get a foam pad.

A random orbital polisher (like the Porter Cable) is 100% safe for your paint. You really can't mess it up. The 'straight line' grinder type buffers are the ones best left to the pros.

I have the highest praise for the PC orbital. I love mine

quality. and the pc have ajustable speeds. the ones at autozone are safe because the are orbital and the don't gind the same spot continuously. other than that i don't know. like i said i bout a set at sears and 10 and a 6" for $25. works great. i'd say buy it you won't hurt the paint.

Porter Cable 7336 here. One of the best detailing purchases I made so far.

If I were you, I'd get the Porter Cable. About $120. More $ than Auto Zone type, but well worth it IMO. I have the PC 7424 and it's the best detailing investment I've made.

Get the PC 7424. I had a Sears "rattletrap" buffer before. It had little to no power and was too light. On top of that they accessories available for them were not very good.

I have the PC 7424 now and absolutely love it.
