polish and wax in the sun

On the bottle, it says to not wax in the sun. I don't have a garage to do that. Why can't you polish and wax in the sun? Sorry, i'm a detailing newbie.

Also, how long should you let the polish and wax sit on the car?

because in the sun, the wax and polish will dry as soon as you apply it..... and it sucks! you can't evenly apply it and spread it across the surface.

Or, you could get yourself some Poorboys products which allow you to work in direct sunlight.

I am in the same situation. For me last Saturday was perfect: 71 degrees and overcast. I used swirl mark remover to detail the car. I need to compound the car but I just never seem to have enough time.
