Removing old touch up paint?

The girlfriend just bought a 99 maxima the other day and while the rest of the car is in great shape there is a few spots where some limp wristed dummy put touchup paint on the scratches. I want to remove the old touchup paint and try to redo it so it looks better.

What are your suggestions to go about doing this without damaging the factory paint around it?

I read through the detailing section and couldnt find anything on here so that is why i am posting.

Thanks

I was wondering if there is a way to do this too, but I'm not holding my breath. Seems to me, anything that will remove the touch-up paint will also remove any factory paint as well.
If your g/f's car is pearl white like mine, touch-up paint is a huge pain in the ***. You have to get the pearl/base mixture just the right color to match, and it goes on a different color than it dries. It may look right at first, but then it will dry and get darker.

its dark green but the touchup paint on there is a lighter green so it looks like crap. I guess we may just have to leave it.

Sorry this reply comes late.

Get a small can of lacquer thinner from the paint aisle, then wipe off the old paint with a soft cloth. Don't have to use very much at all.
