looks like someone went to town with an orbital, so in the sunshine after i wash it there are some noticeable swirl marks mostly on the hood and front fender. What can i do to remove these if anything?

There are several avenues you can take to remove swirl marks. Here are some that other orgers and I have used:

3M Swirl Mark Remover
Meguiar's #9 Swirl Mark Remover
Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish
Einszett Paint Polish
Menzerna Intensive and Final Polishes

In your case, I'd consider the Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish, the Einszett Paint Polish or the Menzerna twins.
