Finally completed my clay, menzerna..

Hey guys..

Amazing smoothness and gloss with menzerna. *but i was still left with swirls and used IP after washing down the DAWN dishsoap*.. (can anyone chime in as to why?)...

For those who have used their Intensive Polish, FPII and Glaze. It states that after you applied polish and it has dried..it states to use a damp MF towel to buff the polish off. Now, when I do this, it streaks over the area that I've buffed over.

My question, do I apply the next step of polish/glaze after.. OR do I need to take a DRY MF towel and buff the streaks out first? Is there a difference?

Thanks!

I'm surprised there are streaks after using the damp cloth. Maybe there is a lot of dried polish in the MF? Try it again with a clean MF.

I have a black max and streaks show up easily. I used a spray bottle filled with water. Just mist the surface and wipe with that clean MF.

I thought Menzerna was supposed to be filler-less (I admit I am not up to date on Menz as I should be...) but if you still have swirls left after a Dawn wash or wiping down with alcohol, then I would say that you either didn't use the product thoroughly, or the product used was not strong enough to remove the swirls.

Bluesbrekr; the streaks are from the wet MF towel, leaves behind a very thin film of whatever i'm buffing away. For ie. I am using Intensive polish (it has dried to a think layer), instructions state to use a 'damp' MF towel to buff out the IP. When I do this, the damp MF leaves a streak. My question was whether I leave the streak there and go to the next step of my polishing? or should I take a 'dry' MF and buff off the streaks the damp one left behind?

Bman; I'm not sure if I should have rubbed harder when applying IP, or even apply two layers of IP. I'm going to try it again on another section of the car (where the swirls are more promenent)..

thanks for the replies!

I would remove the streak before going to any other step. If the damp MF leaves streaks when removing the polish, for sure try the light water mist and a clean MF. That should get rid of them. You want the surface to be as perfect as possible before applying wax.

I think you just overapplied the polish. You only need a small amount to just cover the area you are working with. Using too much may lead to scratches due to the increased pressure needed to remove the excess polish.

foodmanry; I applied as little polish as possible. But just enough. Knowing how much this stuff cost me.. (trust me on that).

PrinzII .. hahah.. I'll try to get some pics if possible.
