parking stickers and paint

I'll be moving into my new place soon and they require me to put a parking sticker on my rear bumper. I'm scared that this might be bad for my paint and I want to take any precautions and prep the area properly so that my paint is just as good as it was before the sticker. I've never had any sticker on my car before. I dont want any paint to peel off or anything. I was thinking that a very good coat of wax would help some, other than that i'm clueless.

Making sure the paint is clean and protected is good. I don't think you have much to worry about other than the paint fading out a little if any around the sticker, but if you keep the paint protected it should be ok. I don't like stickers on the paint either, but I have bought cars with stickers from the dealer and not had a problem when removing them. See if they will let you put it in the back or side window maybe?

This is uncharted territory to me, so I'm going to suggest a very sparing coat of wax. Too much or something too slick might make your sticker peel off and you'll lose it! I don't think stickers tend to do much damage other than having the paint slightly different shades later on.

Whoa! Are these people serious? What kind of ignorant people would make you do that? I wouldn't even risk it. Ask them if you can stick it on the rear window or something. It's gonna be a lot easier to remove down the line.

I've asked them about sticking it on my rear windshield, but they told me that they wont accept it if it isnt on the rear bumper where they want it. I dont understand whats the big deal with the bumper sincce the windershield isnt that far up from it.
