Door Dings and Such....

Whats sup guys, im new here and i have some questions about door dings, rock chippings, and overall scratches. I got my max at about 9,000 miles and ever since then ive babied it like crazy. But the scratches, door dings, and rock chippings i have are so annoying and i want to know HOW THE HECK to get rid of them. Anyone who knows how to get rid of these scratches or have any of the same problems post some stuff and tell me what you do about it. Thanks!

Some of those scratches look pretty deep, down to the primer. You're not going to be able to get those out or even reduce them.

The finer clearcoat scratches, you should try to polish out first. You can try their Deep Crystal Polish. Your paint also has contamination in it. I recommend you get a hold of a clay kit.

I would clay the sections first, then polish, then wax.

A wax can help to fill them in just a little bit, reducing the specularity of the scratch.

Do you have an orbital buffer? There are tons of threads on how to polish and detail on the org.

Anything can be repainted. You just can't paint the scratches though, you have to paint the whole door jamb/panel.

Unless you want to try and use some touchup paint from http://www.paintscratch.com

As for a an orbital buffer and other detailing questions, see here:

Anytime man.... just be patient... there's a way to ask questions around here and you'll learn more about that with time... I mighta told you this before, but also just to cover your own @$$, read the FAQs, stickies, and recent threads too before ya post something... chances are most issues or issues like it have already been raised.... have fun!
