Birds in tree.....helllllllllpppp
Birds in tree.....helllllllllpppp
What's up peeps. I have a bird problem. I rent an outdoor parking space in my complex and unfortunately the space is directly under a tree. Although I had this bird problem for years, it didn't bother me as much as it's bothering me now. Mostly because I just got a new paint job and EVERY morning I come out, there's bird crap all over my car. They come to the tree at night and if I leave my car there for even twenty minutes, the get me. I tried throwing things at them in the tree in hopes that they will get tired of being temporarily moved, but they still come back a little later. The building had contractors cut the tree branches above my car but the birds went up higher. THE BASTARDS. How can I get them outta there permanently? I thought of spraying some kinda insecticide up there. I know it will probably kill the leaves in that area but SO WHAT!!! lol I've had it up to here with these birds.
I know, I know... the best option is a car cover. I had one before, but I get lazy and my wife never did it. lol
I'll get another one, but I welcome any other suggestions.

aiight, aiight. I got a few more suggestions. A few of them are kinda crazy, but might work. They are:
1- Get battery operated "christmas lights" and throw them in the tree.
2- Run a wire to a small speaker and throw it in the tree. Play music.
3- Get "glow-in-the-dark" stars and string them in the tree.
4- Put a battery operated strobe light up there.
along with these, I looked on the internet and came up with these findings:
- ultrasonic repellent; sticky gel; liquid spray(all of them harmless and non-fatal)
What has been working a little(meaning they don't get me as much) these past couple of days is me throwing a twig up in the direction of the birds at night. I do this about six or seven times. They fly away. Some come back, but not all. I also shined a "cigarette lighter powered" spotlight on them. This thing is BRIGHT. Sorta like what the cops use. Someone told me if I do these things nightly, the birds will get the picture and avoid that area of the tree. We'll see.

How high is the tree? You might want to to fastening a fake owl to the area they sit in?
I had the same problem- I just flushed the bird from one side of the tree to the other each night for a week - it got the hint.

fstbusa: I wish I could shoot one. But they only come at night to sleep. I cant see them at night.
CoolMax: The tree is pretty high. Last year I had contractors cut some limbs over my car, so the birds moved up higher. Therefore, I can't put an owl in the tree.

Click here for the answer to your problems. It will run you about $50, but only certain sporting good stores will stock it.
But if that's too "mean" for you, shoot them with one of those $20 daisy Powerline BB guns available at Wal-Mart. They won't kill the birds like the 2240, but they'll get the idea.

I couldn't shoot any living creature, but let me find birds living/crapping above my car, the .22 will come out for moving target practice.
