I has a '95, original paint, so it's getting tired. The emblems on the trunk are scratched and look like ****. I don't want to get rid of them like everyone does, I don't think it looks good. Is it possible to get new emblems and "glue" them on the way they originally were?

 

yea you just have to be careful when putting them back on so they are straight but you will be able to see an outline of the letter on the truck so its not that hard

 

But is there any kind of glue that will last forever or will the body shop guy probably be able to do it?

 

epoxy should do the trick. that shiznit lasts forever

 

you could also get a plastic polish and fix them, and save the hassle of removing then replacing them.

 

When I worked at the body shop, the emblems that the techs would put on the cars had adhesive right on the back of the emblem. You'd peel the tape off the back and slap it on. They had some special adhesive that was meant to keep the emblem stuck there permanently.

 

Likely a 3M adhesive tape made for automotive use.

 

Which can be easily removed given the proper tools.....and skill level
