I think that is a little too much. You don't want to be rubbing on your cars finish that much. A proper waxing with a good wax should last you 3 to 4 months. I wax my car in November or December then I wax it in April and then again in August and that is enough for me!

I talked to a guy once who owned a G35c, and every day for 27 straight days he went home and washed his car and applied another coat of Zaino. I don't think it could actually HARM your paint if you waxed it every month, but I do think it would be overkill. Really good waxes can last 3-4 months as NIKV69 said, and a polymer sealant will last even longer.

I wax about every 2 months, but in the summer I wash my car multiple times per week and apply Meguiar's QuikDetailer (professional line; Final Inspection) which increases the life of the wax.

Well, lately, with the good weather, I have been washing and waxing every 3 weeks or so. I have a black Max, and after washing there are just enough spots left over that make me want to detail the whole thing, lol. Besides, I love working on the car. And, as you will hear from many paint "experts", the more waxing/polishing/sealing you do to your car's paint, the deeper the gloss and the "wetter" the look due to the fact that you are building up several layers of "oils" that are protecting your paint from contaminants.

You can wax once a month without any issues. Just don't use abrasive polishes every month. But you should prep the paint and remove swirls before your first wax job.

What products do you plan on using ?

I wash and apply pure (no cleaner)wax every week....waxing on some occassions can be every two weeks if I get lazy....it is therapeutic for me to do it...if you use a pure wax or pure sealant, there should not be any issues...I agree on how it gets deeper, glossier and wetter...plus I like to keep the finish real slick...as far as having a rule of thumb of approximately "x" number of weeks or months between waxing, that can vary immensely due to a lot of factors....garaged or not garaged....parked under the sun all day at work(if you live in the desert, temperatures on a dark colored cars finish may just burn out all the protective properties of wax in no time)..rain and snow can have the same adverse effect on the finish as much as the sun....parked outside overnight, etc....if it is on the extreme side, I suggest claying as often as you can to get contaminants out and immediatly waxing after each clay session....each owner will have to make their own determination as to how often this is needed...my rule of thumb is if the finish is not slick, then a coat of wax is needed....thats just me....

I try to wax about once a month through the winter, and every 3 weeks or so throughout the rest of the year. I choose to use "beauty waxes" like Pinnacle Paste Glaz during the warmer months, due to it's awesome gloss on my pearl white. Even though it is not very durable (MAYBE 1 month) I use it anyway, because I don't mind waxing every few weeks.

Waxing/sealing too much will NOT hurt your paint. Like SilverBelle said, just don't use abrasive polishes too often.
Abrasive polishes wear away your clearcoat, which can do damage to your paint if you allow the clear to become too thin (too much polishing).

Very few waxes (with the exception of Collinite and maybe Meg's #16) will last 4 months.
If you don't want to wax more than a few times per year, use a durable sealant like Klasse Sealant Glaze. With proper paint prep, SG can last for up to 6 months.

i did the washed the car with polish and everything else you can think of, that was 1 year ago..... and i just spray the car with water now... ive gotten lazy in washing and polishing my car. Last time i did that, i spend like 6 hours on it...

I think i should have polished it before the snow hits, but it hit already so oh well.

The last time that I waxed my car, was when I first got it -- in August. I did it by hand, and it took hours. It didn't last long, after I washed like 3 more times in the next week, my scratches reappeared. Got lazy during the football season (can you blame me???), and now have a buffer/polisher, and it took not more than a half hour to apply/half hour to polish. Car was looking great for two days -- I hate road grime/salt/dirt/etc. For those in the NE, you know what I'm talking about.

Never heard of that.

As far as product recommendations...
A good wax for someone that doesn't want to wax their car much is Meg's #16 paste wax, NXT Tech Wax, or #26 Yellow Wax. The last two you can find at a local parts store. #16 can only be ordered online as far as I know.

My favorite sealant (available only online) is FourStar UPP. In addition to that, Klasse Sealant Glaze is also a great product.

I second the Meguiar's suggestion. Meguiar's Gold Class has not failed me yet.
