Engine Bay help

Hey Guys,
98 Maxima(max in my counrty, actually Infinity I30)
i tried cleaning the Engine Bay of my car, but not satisfied. i used degreaser to get rid of the grease... and then used low pressure water to get it off..
the engine cover, intake manifold and especially the timing cover... all dull
the timing cover in most of the cars i've seen in the org are bright and shining.. mine is dull grey.. i want it to shine!!
how do i do that?
plus, where i live... we have limited brands when it comes to alum polish or degreasers.
---- one last thing... i have the one pc headlight... its getting a lil dirty from the inside... what can i do for that?

thnx,
Ali

You will have to find some 303 aerospace cleaner...does a great job with plastics and metals and leaves plastics a matte black. Also, for the valve cover and IM, you migt need to scrub them. Also, you are supposed to rinse with the highest pressure water you can get (just avoid spraying directly into the alternator)

Try a metal polish on the valve cover etc. I have had great success with Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish, if you can find it where you are. Otherwise any type of aluminum type polish should work, just check a small spot to make sure it's not too abrasive.

I also use Mothers Magnesium/Aluminum Polish on my engine bay. I scrub the metal areas with cotton towels.
If you don't have access to Mothers products there, just find some type of metal polish.

Here's what I ended up with after my polishing session last year, all done by hand:

Where is Dubai, DX anyway?
