Got a new Gem Orbital
Got a new Gem Orbital
My boss used to be a professional detailer, and has taught me some awesome tips and tricks related to detailing. He recently hooked me up with a Gem Industries Orbital for a good price, and I have to say, my detailing experience will never be the same.
Scratches and imperfections that I couldn't get out are now just a vague memory after having a field day with meguiars products. I topped the car with Scratch X and then proceeded to liquid wax it. About a week later before the Markham Park meet, I decided to Use #6 followed by Gold Class Paste. The results are simply amazing. Those scratches that I could never get out are extremely faint or completely gone now. There is still the typical BS that will never come out, acid stains from bird turd, rock damage, etc, but the car is so much better than it used to be.
All in all, I have a whole new outlook on detailing. It really matters what machine you use for the job. Once the chemical is heated up properly, it can do wonders to your paint.
P.S.
I got a 18lb Gem Industries Orbital.

When I went from detailing completely by hand to buffing with a DeWalt 849 high speed rotary, I felt that way too. I polish customers' cars with it and compund for jobs that requires it, then wax with hi-tech yellow on a random orbital.

Alright. My boss is going to high speed my car next week, so he might take care of them for me. We'll see.
