Lexol is good for seats that have been conditioned in the past, but people rave about Leatherique which is a lot more expensive but seemingly worth it. Sounds great for stiff leather, and I plan on using it on my car and some customers' cars in the spring. Off the top of my head, I *think* the website is www.leatheriqueorder.com , someone can correct me if I'm wrong though.

im itching to use that stuff too, ive heard good things about it, as for the lexol, thats waht i currently use, it helps although ive done mine about once a month since march '04, and even tried the softscrub trick which is just messy. i would give leatherique a try, let us know how it works if you decide to get it

soft scrub with lemon or regular. lemon just adds a nice scent.

squirt a liberal amount directly onto the seat and rub in with a terry cloth. wipe off residue with clean side or another towel. loosens up the seats nicely plus cleans them like a champ.

be sure to condition after getting up all the excess soft scrub.

i also hear woolite is safe to use on the leather seats although i have never tried it personally.

has anyone tried Zaino's leather cleaner and leather protector for this? I have an 04 and my seats have had lexol on them in the past by a pro car wash place. But I used Zaino's when I washed my car last and I like the look of it better than I did with Lexol, it is also smoother looking (less splotchy). Plus the protectant actually, honestly, smells like new leather. So after about a day or two, it smells like a new car inside. I, needless to say, liked Zaino's leather conditioning and protectant lotion. www.zainostore.com

I want gurureports to publish their leather care edition. www.gurureports.com

I use lexol. It works well. But the top of the rear seats (headrests) could use some softening up. The lexol is not a miracle worker, but works extremely well IMO

And just for the record, I personally never use a leather cleaner to clean leather seats. When you have a tan interior, for example, where the leather gets noticeably dirtier than in a black interior, even Lexol cleaner doesn't do the trick. I usually use Scrubby Bubbles and a scrubby pad. The foam gets inside the cracks so you can blow them out with an air gun, and then you can follow up with a quality conditioner.

Wow! I was just looking at the Leatherique website and the recommended application procedures for their cleaning products and rejuvenator oil seem outrageaus.

Do you guys clean your leather every time prior to an application of a conditioner treatment?

I still use the mr clean erasers for my tan leather. Cleans them up VERY nicely. Then I follow up with a good conditioner.
