Baby Oil

So, the other night I spilled Baby Oil on this girl's purse lol. Consequently, it left a mark that stood out like a sore thumb so later on I covered it all in baby oil to blend in the mark and it made the black leather shiny as hell. Later on, a thought popped inna my head that what if I used this on my dash, etc. I mean baby oil is not bad stuff, it's healthy and meant for your skin so I would suppose it wouldn't hurt the leather or dash right? Give me some feedback on whatchu think. I don't think it would ever happen, but I don't wanna try it, then have suttin turn brown lol.

The dash is vinyl (or is it just plastic?), anyway it's not leather. There's no reason to think whats good for skin is good for your dash. You're better off with something made as a dash protectant.

yeah, i don't think I'd try it if I was you, I always just use armor all. I don't think the baby oil would hurt it, but it might cook it in the sun, I don't know. lol plus, I'm not sure if I'd want to smell the baby oil anyway if I was you.

I was reading about vinyl on a site belonging to the manufacturer of a popular vinyl protectant (http://www.303products.com/tech/inde...&feature_id=18) and it says "Using the wrong vinyl "protectant" product is worse than using no vinyl treatment product at all! Avoid vinyl treatment products that contain any type of oil, have an oily or greasy feeling..."

I can't say this for certain, but I have heard that armor all original has been reformulated and will no longer do that.

I wouldn't do that unless I wanted to risk a cracking dashboard when it gets warmer.

I would not use baby oil on my dash.

As for Armor All, I heard the same thing that Terran did....that it was changed to removed the silicone. That said, I still don't use it. I only use 303 on the dash and other vinyl stuff.
