This is what I use. I only put a single coat because I like my tires to be black and semi-glossy. Apply sparingly until you have complete coverage. If you put too much on, too fast and then drive, it will sling off. This stuff stays shiny for at least a couple weeks. I'd stay away from the black magic spray and similar sprays. I tried black magic and didnt like the results.

no fling, need i say more?

anyway, its 2 coats of Black Magic Tire Wet (the clear stuff). Granted its petroleum based, who cares. When I see proof of it cracking tires, I might consider changing. I have been using this on this set and my last set of tires (last set for 30k and this set for the 15k I have had them). I have NO problems with cracking or anything.

how do you apply your black magic? do you just spray up a dry towel/rag and apply? it seems to always be a little uneven

Does that black magic spray last on the tires until your next car wash? 1-2 weeks? Meguiar's Endurance Gel does for me and I only apply a single coat. When I used to use black magic spray a long time ago, the shine would fade away to a matte black appearance in a matter of about 3-4 days. I didn't apply numerous coats since I didn't want them to be dripping wet and fling off when I drive.

oh well... To each, their own...

well, i use the gel applicator (the curved foam) and go around the tire pressing hard. I let that sit for the amount of time it takes for me to clean the windows and apply a coat of rainx. then i go back and put a lighter coat of the gel on making sure that there is NO globs or runs. this will make sure that there is nothing flinging off.

as for the endurance, I also like this alot, but i did start to notice specks up by the window, so i experimented with the other stuff.

I just bought the Black Magic Tire Wet (Clear one) Spray. Looks good. It even rained hars as hell today and still has a gloss too it. I did however, have trouble putting it on, cuz it was spraying/dripping onto my rim. I guess I'll spray a rag next time, but afraid I won't get enough on or maybe even have an uneven shine.

well, id suggest using the foam applicator like you would any other gel products... but... i usually spray about 4-5 times directly onto the applicator and then go around the wheel. this prevents unnecessary marks on the wheel and provides an even coat.

Mequires Tire Gel is the best value and holds a great gloss between washes no matter what the weather conditions are.

A lot of really good feedback on this topic. Right now I use either the Turtle Wax Tire wax or the Meguiar's Tire Gel. Both are excellent. Just out of curiosity, where can you find the Shining Monkey stuff?

I use Meguiars also. It's really nice and the grap smell is weird. My wife asked me why would you place a scent in something that goes on the outside of your car? I said that's not our problem...get me another bottle while your out (smile)

i just used Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel yesterday, I like the results, but for me most tire shines work the same, the difference is how long they keep the tires shiny.

the grape smell is the coolest!!!

I've used 303 and Armor All. I liked 303 for the matte finish and durability, but it is expensive.

I just picked up a bottle of Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing this week. I like the non-overdone glossy finish but will have to report back on how long before re-application. Nice initial results..

I just picked up a bottle of Meguiars Endurance Gel. I did it twice like it says on the bottle and I think it looks good. I would say its almost a cleaner shine because you apply it with the applicator so you don't miss any spots. For 8 bucks and the amount that I used it seems good so far. Here is a pic of how much I used. I did two coats on my tires and my dad used it on 2 of his tires.

I tried Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance gel head to head against Shining Monkey. Meguiar's on the right side of the car, Shining Monkey on the left. The Meguiar's is hard to use on the textured surface (fine ribbing) of Pilot Sport A/Ss and is beginning to fade after 1 week. Shining Monkey goes on really easy (aerosol) and is still shining.

I did two coats on my tires on 7-24 and they still shine. Through the rain storms we had and a wash. And the best part is no brown tires.
