Wheel wells?

I was gonna wash my rig tomorrow and wanted to get down and dirty with my wheel wells. What do you guys use to shine (can it be shined?) or darken your wheel wells with?

Thanks

I wash them when I'm washing the tires/wheels. Use a scrub brush. Make sure you rinse them well. Then after I dry the car, I'll spray some Vinylex (but any type of vinyl/rubber treatment spray will work) in the wells and wipe it with a rag. It won't make them shine, but it makes them much darker. Especially with a black car, I hate the way they can look gray without treating them.

After you wash them spray them with your favorite tire dressing.
They'll shine nice and dark.

and thank you sir.

I washed her up today, and it looks great. I'm not dropped yet, so washing and spraying up in there did her a great justice.

Curious to know though. How oh pretell do you dress it up in there if you are indeed dropped. I obviously had plenty of room to work with not being dropped and all, but it seems that it might be a knuckle and forearm scraping affair if you are dropped. Do you even bother or do you do the best you can with what room you have?

Thanks again.

Completely unrelated: It is good to see a "newbie" write well. And forgive the "newbie" connotation I used, just in regards to your post count.

It depends on how much of a drop you have. With my Maxspeeds (about 1.3 inch drop) I could still get in there pretty well.

Since I installed my D2's and have a 3" drop, I need to jack the car up to dress the wheel wells.

Also, you can take that opportunity to remove the wheels and clean the back of the rims.

I noticed my rear passenger side wheel well is missing a screw. Should I ignore it or is there some really cheap place where I can get a screw / whatever goes behind to keep it in place?

After washing up my guards and wheel wells, I noticed that one of my rear guards was loose and was missing a screw. Don't know if they're similar sized screws, but I was thinking I'd take one out from the other side, and either look at it, memorize it and put it back or take it to Home Depot, Lowe's or some other hardware store to find another one (maybe even stock up on them) It's not dangerously loose, just wiggly, so I don't see it flying off and chopping a biker guy in the neck or anything if I do take it out to show somebody.

& if I may

That is a very kind thing to say. Thank you, and certainly no offense taken to the newbie connotation. I'm pretty much a newbie all the way around the house (especially in the detailing & audio forums). shyt, I don't even know how to put 2 diff quotes in a post so I can shoot it to more than one cat at a time. (Can anyone tell me how to do that?) Anyway...

It seems my Max has made me want to learn about it. (Never had a car do that to me before). To make me want to take care of it, to make it look good, feel good & sound good. Thanks to the Org and you guys, I can look for and hopefully get a clue.

I am curious though. How many posts does it take to become an ex-newb? The century mark perhaps? On with the posts then. With posts, comes knowledge!

If ours are the same size and you need to buy them in quantities larger than you need, we could arrange a deal... lol
