Hazy headlights

Just for information, I went to pick up the 3M product to clear the plastic covering for my '02 and the store personnel informed me of a product from Meguiar's called "PLASTX". The 3M was going for $11.99 and Plastx was $5.99. It is a 10 oz. bottle. He stated that another customer swears by it so I tried it and it worked great! The headlights are very clean and clear.

I used the Meguiar's plastic polish on my headlights and fog lights and the thing really works! Removes the scratches and haze off of it. I got mine on eBay...

Yeah the stuff does work pretty good. You can get it really anywhere. Pepboys, Autozone, I think that Walmart even carries it over here.

Yeah, I could not find it in Canada in any stores, you guys are lucky... Canadian Tire carries some Maguire stuff but they did not have the Plastic Polish, hence eBay :-)

I was surprised how well Meguiar's Plastx worked on my hazy and pitted Maxima headlights. I was shocked when i tried Plastx on my Full-size '89 GMC Jimmy's yellowed, pitted, and pretty much destroyed turn signal markers; I never even knew the markers were supposed to be clear and transparent until I used the stuff.

I bought mine at Advanced Auto Parts for $5.99.

I used Meguiars three step paint cleaner, polish, and wax. I did all this by hand in two days under a portable carport.

I recently used the PlasticX by Meguiar's, and it did a very good job at clearing up my lenses. More than one application may be required depending on how much build up there is. I read the other day I think in the 4th gen forums that someone had used brake fluid to clear theirs up. Don't know if I'd risk that, though.

PlasticX kinda works for me. Looking from the front its pretty clear, but at an angle the headlights are still yellowish. This is the 2nd product I used. Its better than the Blue Magic one, but it couldn't fix what the Florida weather did to headlights.

What I would recommend at that juncture is the Novus 3 step system.

For those of us with a PC, get the 4" spot Pads.

hey on my 5th get, i can't seem to make my headlight smooth again. it looks great during the daytime, but when i turn on the hids, the lens becomes hazy, i ran my hand over it and it felt kind of rough. i tried the plastx but with no results. i used about a quarter size amount on a terry towel and rubbed till i couldnt see the plastx, wiped with another towl and the haze is still there! am i doing something wrong or are my lights too far gone?

Used the 3m product last night, cause autozone near me no longer carries plastx. 3M stuff worked great. Left a few fits from rocks and stuff, but aint nothing getting that out. I only used the scratch/haze remover. I did not use the accompaning polish to make shiny. Have a bunch left, anyone need me to send them some? Send me a PM and I will send you some. Gonna sit im my garage anyway.

I was able to get PlastiX from Canadian Tire no problem. It cleaned it up but still, my driver beam seems brighter, I think I need to reaim my passenger side.

After the recommendations for PlastX, I bought a bottle to clear the haze from my fathers '95 Lincoln and it works great! It took most of the yellowish hazy film off the headlights with the first coat. I'm gonna apply 2 more coats this weekend to get it looking really good. It beats buying used headlights off eBay for $90 each.
