When should I detail?

I am going off to college in mid-august and I am not sure whether or not I should get my car detailed before I leave since I will be unfortunately leaving it behind for a while...the detail shop by my house waxes, polishes, and buffs...and uses pure carnauba to do the job...i have 2 jobs now so i have no time to do it myself...im thinking it would be good to leave it behind being protected from the elements...what do you guys think...?

I would have to agree with you, just get it done and then you will have nothing to worry about when your gone.

They don't use pure carnuba...it would be a solid bar of wax and would royally f up your paint.

They may mean they use carnuba rather than polymer protectant, but that shouldn't be a selling point especially in your case where you want durability rather than looks. Try to get a long lasting sealant applied rather than the "pure carnuba."
