Paint chip touch up question.......

What do I need to know about touching up the chips on my Maxima? (Silver Mist)

1, Do I need to remove the wax in the chip area?
2, Any special brush?
3, Is it going to look like cr@p?

Thanks for your help

1) yes.
2) It will come with one. Some people like a toothpick better.
3) It won't look perfect, but how good depends on you. Silver tends to match pretty well.

Terran,
Thank you for some insight here. What do you recommend for taking off the wax?
I will let you know how it turns out after I do it next week.
Any one else want to add something to this?

You need to take the wax of of the area so the paint can ahere to the metal better. The one thing to remember is to not try to get it all in one coat. Put on the first touch up wait for it to dry and keep building up until it gets a close to level as possible. The paint will go to the lowest point in the space you are trying to fill. Most people try to fill it in with two wet coats. Thats when it looks like a bad finger nail polish job. As to a special brush most touch up paints come with a brush when you get it from the dealer. Just don't use that universal junk. Hope this helps bro and good luck.
