aluminum wheel polishing questions
aluminum wheel polishing questions
Does anyone here have aluminum wheels? I hear they have "pores" and are hard to clean. Just wondering if anyone has an advice on cleaning them.
i'm going to buy some eagles or mothers aluminum polish, but i was wondering if this cleans them as well. I have some tire lubricant i got on them that seems to be DRIED on them and i scrubbed the spot for a second and gave up. i'm just being super cautious because i dont want them to get ruined. I covered them with towels when i washed my car because its advised that you dont wash your wheels with normal car wash.
anyway...any advice is appreciated.

Yeah they are polished aluminum. No clear coat.
Centerline put a little notce in the wheel boxes saying what to use. But I feel like they are going to be permanently damaged if they aren't babied. So I was asking about anyone elses experience. I haven't cleaned them yet. Had them for a week.

Well, I'd follow the instructions that came with the wheels. If they're only a week old, they ought to look good for quite a while. Contact Centerline and see what they say about removing the tire lube.
