Car got Keyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Car got Keyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the touch up paint for my car and the thinest paint brush i could find and tryed to cover it up. But it dont look that good, anyone got and tips for me? Why would someone do something like this!!!!!! I was ready to beat down the closest person to my car when i saw it.
Use the touchup to fill, then tape off the area around it within a few inches. Then wetsand,compound,polish....Works like a charm for me everytime.
Although if your not experienced in wetsanding I would not attempt to do this.

same damn thing happened to my max when i was at a party over the summer...huge line down the hood and right side of the car and some marks on the trunk
still have a few culprits that havent admitted to it but im living with it

clay bar will not get rid of key marks or any scratches for that matter
ive been too lazy but im gonna play around with touchup paint and wetsanding on maybe a discrete part under my bumper...adding touchup paint very carefully with a toothpick until you fill the scratch and then giving it a nice polish might help..thats what im gonna try to do
P.S. D-bag got all but 2 panels on my car

trying on a discrete area is a good idea. Although the bumper not being metal is a bit harder task to do with good results. Ive seen some experienced people including myself have some trouble with it.
duly noted the only thing is my bumper is already so scratched up that i dont care about it anymore...if i actually do try to play around maybe ill have some fun scratching the trunk under the spoiler where the spoiler hangs over the side and nobody notices
didnt think about the whole metal/plastic issue though

this may be a stupid question and im sure its on one of the forum pages, but im a lost newbie and my question is, when i got my car, it has a bunch of short and long scratches, not deep tho, i tryed 2 different types of scratch removers, no luck, tryed some stuff that had color wax, worked temporarly, what do you guys suggest so i can tackle this problem this spring.
you may be able to buff the scratch out with a buffer and some polish...you probably wont get them out by hand. If wax covers up the scratches then you shuold be able to polish it out otherwise you may have to try your luck at touchup paint or just repaint the car...or deal with it like i do

Get one of those 10 inch oribital polishers. Get some medium polishing compound (those are color neutral and typically work better with the high speed polisher but can swirl up the paint pretty bad if used incorrectly) Something like this should be the trick

And just polish it away. Read ALL you can about polishing with an oribital polisher. The thing is almost fool proof, as you can leave it on one spot and it will not scratch or create more swirls.
