How to clean chrome rims with caked on brake dust?

Anyone have any tips? The brake dust is very bad and looks like corrosion. Anyone have any suggestions on how to take them off? Thanks

ive used simple green, a degreaser for anything. It works wonders. soap, water and a brush that is strong but won't leave scratches.

use a clay bar somewhere in there as well, it helps a lot. use it when most of the crap is off the wheel.

Damn, dude. Had I known you were going to undertake this, I could have hooked you up with some of the All Purpose Cleaner I use since I sometimes hang around the OP/RF area.

Magic Erasers work really well for brake dust. I'm not sure if they are safe on Chrome, but they are amazing on my stock 99 SE rims.

Old thread, dont mean to bring it back but the Maguires rim cleaner is supposed to make it all just come off after spraying and leaving on for a min or 2...Wheneven you wanna get together and clean le rims, I'm also in the OP/RF area since I live right near OP

Orange blast work excellent too but might take wax off
