about to try S100 ...

so since the detailing season for me is about to start soon ... I decided to start off by adding S100 to my collection.

According ot my research online, it's basically the same thing as P21S, except w/ an additive for "flexing" for motorcycles.

Bought it at the local Harley Davidson store for 15.95 (half the price of P21S). Will posts pictures hopefully tomorrow (so long as it doesn't rain).

I'm thinking of washing the car -> Zaino P1 w/ white pad -> Zaino Z2 w/ white pad -> topping with S100.

I also have the new Zaino PC (made for use w/ an orbital) product on the way .. their first dual action cleaner / polish product which is abrassive for light swirl removal. Will be interesting compared to Klasse AIO (my fav product so far). I'll post a review on that in the coming weeks tho ... too lazy to start from scratch now.

superblack ftw!

will keep u posted... some critics say, because of the additive in S100, it MAY compromise the lifespan of it. But hell, it's really used as a weekend show-off topper in my book. I plan on my synthetics (klasse / zaino) products to protect and keep the underlying shine alive for the entire season.

Besides that, it's all marketing a scheme between S100 and P21S. $15 bucks different, why not?

Yeah. Since I got new paint, I figured I would start using the good stuff. (Klasse and P21S)

I have used S100 for a couple years as my 'everyday' wax. And I started using it because of it's similarities to P21S. I didn't know about the flexing part, but I don't think it detracts from it's use on cars.

Did a side by side test last year - S100 vs Souveran. (Prinz was there) The S100 was very close in gloss and lasted just as long as the Souveran.

Blues, I remember that test.

Nowadays, I have all three waxes (S100, P21S, Souveran). My S100 is getting low and I wanted to try P21S. I also have Liquid Souveran and it works pretty well.

I haven't used S100 in awhile. I'm still addicted to Collinite 845, but I suppose I should start using S100 as a topper. Now I know what im doing this week.

IIRC, the list price is like $70. You can usually get it for $60 and once in a while it goes on sale for $50. (which is when I got mine). Expensive, but it lasts quite a while.

damn... so compared to $15 S100, is it worth the extra 55 bucks??

i am willing to spend the $$ for souveran cuz i can't help myself when it comes to detailing anymore lol ... but the question is, is it worth it??

I dont think its worth it. The P21S for $33 is perfect in my mind.

http://www.properautocare.com/pin-312.html

Pro: Awesome, deep, liquid shimmer on black, red & dark color finishes.
Pro: Very easy to wipe on and buff off.
Pro: Can be layered and layered and layered!
Pro: Very paint friendly. Hides swirls.

Con: Below average durability. Plan on waxing every 60-90 days.
Con: Expensive but after you see the results, who cares!
Con: Only achieves maximum depth and liquidity on dark color paints.
Con: Requires a polish prior to first time application.

Whats worth it is different for every person, but from what Ive seen its not even close to being worth the money. You have to look to find the difference, its not like the difference between the three is night and day

You have a black car? Nattys Blue is wettest looking wax on black Ive used yet

I got some Natty's Blue a few weeks ago. I'll be able to do a side by side comparison with the Souveran soon. I'll let you know how it turns out.

There is a law of diminishing returns with regard to wax. (and many other products) A $20 wax might be twice as good as a $10 wax, but a $100 wax is not twice as good as a $50 wax. It might only be 10% better. For me. I'm glad I got the Souveran. It will last a long time as I only use it a few times a year - mostly for meets and Maxus.

If you have to think about buying Souveran, don't buy it.

P21S/S100 is about 90% of what Souveran is from what I've seen. However I personally find P21S to be a little much on the gloss side so I'll be buying Souveran to see if I can get any extra depth. There's also Collinite 845 and Clearkote CMW as cheaper alternatives next to Natty's Blue which I'll also be buying to compare side by side by side by side by side.

I'm with BlueC on this one, 845 is my go to wax lately. And Nadir S, AIO is my favorite product too.
