Plastic In Front Of Gauges [2002 Maxima]

The plastic in front of my gauges is disgusting and I can never seem to get it clean. Regardless of what cleaning products I decide to use it just doesn't come out spotless and clear. How much would it be for a new one of these also?

i made a thread about this some time ago, maybe someone can find it for you. It was called 'cleaning the plastic in front of gauges' or something like that iirc. I remember that there is a part # for what you are looking for. Have you tried something like plast-x? take the whole cluster out and clean it with that, i bet it'd work pretty well.

THe lexan might need some resurfacing them add a sealant. Try using an abrasive rub like rubbing compound or something I have used recently is flitz. Once it is clean then apply a Meguiars Sealant to keep the shine.

FWIW. After buying the 3M plastic polish and spending a bunch of time on polishing that cover and never getting it perfect, I just went to the dealer and bought a new one. It was under $20 if I remember correctly. It was an easy install - I did it in about 20 minutes outside in the dark, and made a huge improvement.

Just don't clean the new one with glass cleaner containing ammonia. I use a California duster and haven't had to clean it otherwise in 2 years.

Plexus spray. Its a citrus scented polish. Leaves an oily film on the plastic. Spray, buff off with soft microfiber cloth. Helps keeps dust down. Lasts a couple weeks and needs to be redone. I bought a can a couple years ago. Still have more than 1/2 left and I use it all the time. On the cluster, info screen, headlights, tailights, anything clear plastic.
