Light Scratches

Hey all, my dumb@$$ drove under a lemon tree and it scratched the hell out of my car. The scratches are deep but they left white streaks, I've tried washing it and it seems to go away but when it dries the marks come back. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Well, my friend waxed it for me and it got a lot of the scratches out, but not all.

Wax is like a protective coating, not abrasive at all. If you have scratches, you have to first use a compound with abrasive action. Some products have more than others. Look at some of the Mother's or Meguiars products online so you can read up on what they do.

Pics? That would help determine a process for removing them.

What 'wax' did your friend use? If it took out some of the scrateches it was most likely a 'cleaner wax'.

I'll try to post pics later, but it was just regular Turtle Wax.

I think Mothers has something for those scratches but you will need a buffer to do a good job.
