Alloy Wheel Polish
Is there such thing as an alloy wheel polish? My stock 16s are in need of a good polish and cleaning. I am afraid to use a chrome or alum. wheel cleaner because it may remove the clearcoat. If that is the problem...is there any way that i can reapply the clearcoat?
you could just respray them with clear. duplicolor has some that most people use when repainting their wheels.
as far as cleaning could always use wheel cleaner and a good scrub brush, possibly a clay bar

The best polish is actually stuff you get at the motorcycle shops, its called SemiChrome. Its this polish that comes in a toothpaste like dispenser and its by far the best, nothing better. It will beat the mcguirs or bluemagic crap hands down, Ive personally tested them. I used to use them on my CCW wheels and it would make them almost like chrome. Picture below shows the results of a Semichrome polish on my CCWs. Yes those are actually polished and not chrome plated.
