wax as you dry
wax as you dry
I ve been using the eagle one wax as you dry or the meguiares wax as you dry...I was just wondering if if was bad to use a wax as you dry product everytime you wash? Im kinda new to the detailing thing , and I dont wanna wreck my new paint job. Also is there any shine product you reccoment over these two?
its not bad, but its more so a waste of $$
those products don't last long to begin with but you can usually go 3-4 washed between aplications
for the $$ your spending using that stuff every wash (weekly i would assume) you could put down something much better that will not only make it shine better but last longer
but thats just wax, not getting into polishing or putting down layers of glazes and or sealents under the wax

that stuff isnt that great, the only times your gonna see a result with a polish is either working it in till your arms fall off or using a machine
at lest the car is easy to take car of being silver and hides swirls well, unlike black

Not worth it. I have NXT paste, and absolutely love it. ColorX is also growing as one of my favorite products that I always keep on hand when detailing. I will say that after using NXT paste though, that unless you are a paste fan, you will enjoy using the liquid much more. Personally I enjoy the slow process of waxing my car, but when I am doing a customer's car, I just want to get a great job done in as little time as possible (as if that means much considering I spend about 6-8 hours on a car).
There are a lot of different waxes available, and it all depends on what you are looking to get out of for you car. If this is an everyday driver, I would highly recommend using ColorX then NXT and you will get a great looking surface. If this is anything more, then we are talking about an entirely different ballgame.

There is a diminishing point when waxing. Usually anything over 2 coats will provide no extra gloss, protection, or anything. You only need to wax when there is little to no wax left on the surface. If you want an extra pop, I would use Ultimate Quick Detailer. This adds some pop to the surface and overall, a great product.
If you just love waxing and do it weekly for no other reason, then get some good carnuba wax. M26 paste is a great product to work with for enthusiast and provides a brilliant gloss.
I've used this same product for a long while. I think it's great. I don't wash the car and throw it on like it's the equivalent of a conventional wax, however, I use it in between conventional waxing and I adore the results. I start the spring with a full days job on the car: claybar, paint cleaner, polish, cleaner wax, followed by gold class wax. after that, I go 3-4 washes (weekly) with the wax-as-you-dry product, and then at the start of each month, I'll throw another layer of Mequiar's Gold Class wax on. My car is never NOT looking brand new. I personally think using conventional wax methods weekly is a waste of time and effort
