Mothers Three Step detailing?

I was in pepboys today and noticed they had a mothers 3 step kit. I was wondering if anyone has any experience or reviews on it. Being a detailing nub, it seems like it would work. Its got the cleaner, sealant and carnuba wax. I figured if I clayed it, then used those in step with a rotary + microfiber bonnet, I would get some decent results without the costs of a PC, etc...am I headed in the general right direction? How would this process work with a PC if I were to shell out for one? Any opinions wanted! Gotta look nice for the SE meet...haha.

Thanks!

You could do that, or just clay it REALLY WELL and then use the wax, either by hand or buffer, which ever one you think it needs.

Being that your car is WHITE, all that you have to do is just have a good eye for all the little spots of tar and rail-dust that will be on your car while claying, and just after doing that you will already notice a great difference.

if you are a detailing nub, i would stay away from a buffer, cuz you risk burning through your paint, the whole point of having a PC or a UD is so that you dont run the risk of burning through your paint...

in the end if you think you can handle it... go ahead and try it with the buffer... but i've seen some mishaps happen w/ buffers....not a pretty site

PrjctMax: I have clayed before, and deffinetly know its benefits. Great stuff.

Duck: I am in the market with a possible seller for a PC, so I may go ahead and get it(or atleast borrow it, its a friend). Say I got this kit, and the PC...would I need to get any pads? I mean, I know I will, which ones though?

I am looking to remove some of the shallow thin scratches that were caused from a to abrasive sponge during a wash, they bug me...would this sortof, reduce them?

Thanks for all your help!

if your gonna spend the $$ on a PC and do it with that, i would suggest using better products than mothers 3 step

a truck i did a few weeks ago, (black silverado) i used optimum compound with a light cutting pad, then finished with poliseal on a white polishing pad

Alright, thanks guys. I dont know if I will be able to get a hold of the PC, but I should. If I do, then Ill buy some more $$ stuff.

Also, I have used a buffer before, on my car, and parents car. If I couldnt get the PC, would it be better for me to use this 3 step by hand or an orbital with microfiber bonnets? THanks!

first off, better stuff to use with a PC isnt nessicarally more $$

and you'd get the same results by hand so it doesnt matter
