I need to touch up my 04 SL wheel nut holes, because they have been scratched in places due to careless lug nut wrench use. What exactly is the color of silver used on my wheels and where can I buy some touch-up paint?

 

Good question. I would like to know as well. I've seen spray paint, but only need the touch up stuff with clearcoat.

 

ehhhh..... i don't think they have a color you can just buy off the shelf.

most of the time, when professionals refinish wheels, its still off. so, don't think you will be able to find it. you could always paint your wheels with duplicolor engine enamel universal gold........

 

Does clearcoat wear off over time? My car wheels are really smooth in some areas, and other areas not as smooth. In the areas not as smooth the grime sticks to it more, and its harder to clean up.

 

it can wear off. clear coat usually has this glass feel. if its not like that, it might have faded, chipped, or eroded.
