Nice man, im a lil bit jealous. Yeah i heard many walmarts don't have 2.0. Its a hit or miss with that, just be patient for a few more weeks then you can get it anywhere.

On another note. Does anyone know of a product that cleans like a cleaner wax(such as Meguiars cleaner wax) but isn't a wax? I've found the cleaner wax to work even better than a clay bar.

I wanna deep clean the paint then hit it with NXT 2.0.

I've had it on a couple customer's cars for about 3 months now and it is holding up well, slickness too.

not a big Meguiar's fan.... Bet this one is gonna be new for you guys.... Collinite's No. 925 Fiberglass Boat Wax!!! Trust me boys, don't knock it till you try it... you can get it in either a paste or liquid form (different Numbers, ex 920, 885, etc) depending on how "into" the whole waxing process you are. I detail boats and use it religiously... my old boss introduced me to the idea of using it on the car... he uses it on ALL his toys... his boats, the BLACK SL55, Dk. Blue '67 Shelby Mustang, GT40, all the Porsche's, his bikes and even insists the detailers in his BMW/Mercedes/Infinity dealerships use it on all new car deliveries... one of the wax's is also a cleaner/wax which works wonders... make sure you're using yellow microfiber towels to remove the wax!

Oh btw, I used the NXT car wash liquid. It is very thick! It is DEFINITELY worth the money.
I use it with the car wash style gun I bought, and the suds are rich and last a long time. I am just waiting to finish my last final, and then I will spend a whole day alone with the max. Well...with my g/f first. Then the max.

Good wax but it looks too 'bright' on black paint to me. Really nice on lighter colors and metallics.

Hey scott, i just got myself a random orbital buffer from autozone. It's nothing special but it's a step up from having to do it by hand, any tips before i go crazy with it? I don't want to damage my paint.

Just picked up NXT 2.0 at the Walmart at Spring Creek and Ohio in Plano. I went to 4 or 5 Walmarts before that.

You'd have to drop it on your car to damage the paint. It isn't even as powerful as a Porter Cable, but at least it will polish more evenly than you can by hand.

Haven't noticed that. I've used it (3 layers) over the Klasse Twins for winter protection. Did it last year and again this year. The paint came through the Wis. winter very well. For the summer I use Natty's Blue or Souveran.

I definently recommend getting a Random Oribital as a basic tool for detailing. I used mine for the first time today and wow man, it came out so much better. Wasn't tiring at all and i managed to do all of the steps in about an hour and half, most of the time spent wiping it off and waiting for wax to settle, but the difference is definently noticiable from regular hand detailing, it used way less product to get the whole car done and removed the water spots i had on my hood easily.

I just picked up my Meguiars Gift pack from walmart today which has the 2.0 The info can be found out from meguiars.com. Its a liquid which i have always used, i never liked spray and have never tried paste. Liquid is easier for me to work with because you can get a nice even layer going definently with a oribital. Going to put on a few coats of 2.0 tomorrow.

Well I finally started on the detailing part of the 08 SE. Got the wheels finished, the interior complete and will start on the exterior (body) tomorrow. Did anyone realize there is a carpet type of material in the rear wheel well? What is this for??? Hard to detail that. Everything I ordered from Meguiars is working perfectly from the 2 step leather process to the metal polysh.

That carpet stuff must be only on the 6th gens. I've seen it, but mostly on higher end cars (Lexus, BMW....) I've just washed it when I do the wheels. Then after it's dry I go back with a brush to remove all the pieces if stuff that are still stuck to it. That's about it. Can't use tire shine stuff cause it's a fabric.

Yeah i noticed it a few days when i was detailing my moms 2007 Altima 3.5L. I have never seen that and i don't know the reasoning behind it, i would prefer it being plastic since its easier to wash.

I believe it is to reduce noise. Not a fan of the stuff either.

Yup...it's for noise reduction. And it works. And there's other things on the higher end cars for noise reduction. Better door seals, better engine bay insulation, all kinds of stuff that works very well for that purpose.

IIRC, a few Max owners have treated the back side of the plastic fender liners and successfully reduced front end road noise.

Treated it with what? It's plastic. Anyone take the rear wheel well carpet pieces out? Any difference in sound? Is there room to Line-X or treat the back part of it (where the carpet would be)?

Thanks Bluesbrekr

Well today I used the clay bar and then proceeded to apply the 3 step process. WOW!! I don't want to even take it out of the garage right now. Gotta work a 12 tomorrow then tomorrow night I'll throw a 2nd coat of the NXT 2.0 wax on it and hopefully get some pics up. It's lookin better than something that is already new ya know.

Yup the 3 step process is amazing, i usually do 3 coats of NXT 2.0 to give it a real deep shine which has been holding for a huge amount of time, i washed it 4 times now and its still looking as it did as day one. Try to work your car with the Ultimate Quick Detailer after your final coat of wax has gone on and cured, you will definently not want to drive it after that . Just got the meguiars wheel wax which i heard was amazing, didn't have the chance to try it yet, maybe i will put some on tomorrow after work and take some before and after pics. Wax for wheels heh, whats next?

Here are just a few pics that I took the other day. The sun wasn't out but I had to get it done before the rain came. I'll try to get a few pics posted with water on it to actually see what it looks like with 3 coats of wax on it.

It looks great man, I will tell you what it looks like with 3 coats of wax, a sheet of hundreds of water droplets. The best part is taking it out to the highway and watching it dry, by the time you come back home the car is perfectly dry.

Yeah I finally got it done and have really enjoyed drivin it. Might be washin it tomorrow. So, on a totally different note, what type of material is used on the interior of the doors, ya know that suede / felt material? I noticed some staining around where the vinyl is that I detailed. If you get anything on the suede, it won't be comin off anytime soon. What is this material called and what is used to detail it??
