Someone keyed my trunk up pretty good tonight, I can get some pictures up tomorrow when its light out but for now... It's not a huge scratch but when I run my fingers over it I can feel it. It's also a white colored scratch. What would be the most effective way to fix it without bringing it in.

Oh sorry to hear that bro, someone keyed my car too!

SO far I have been using touch up paint and so far I've put on about 5 layers of paint along the scratches, and I am starting to not be able to feel the scratch anymore.

So if you have some time you could get some touch up paint and layer it on the scratches

Take it to a detailer and have them attempt to buff out the scratches. If that doesn't work, you'll have to have a body shop repaint the panel(s).

touch up paint should help a little bit. At least make it not *** noticeable, visibly.

Hello,
The best way to fix your scratch is to paste some other picture on it but that picture is related to your scratched picture.

Thanks

Just touch it up with paint and clear and LIGHTLY buff it smooth.

Unless you want it perfect in which case, repaint the panel.

hi, my name is Butch I am a Master Auto Restoration Speacilist. First thing for you to do would be to remove the rear deck lid from vechicle. Wet sand damaged area with 1500 wet/dry sandpaper and use plenty of water(about 40 strokes w/medium presser) you need a rubber sqeege to remove the excess water so you can see if your scratchhas been reduced enugh(without breaking thru your CLEARCOAT ) if you see PRIMER or to the METAL you will have to REFINISH the DECK LID. The paint code will be in the Driver side Door peller OR Under the Hood on a Metal Tag

someone keyed my 07 maxima sl 2 weeks ago. they put an 'x' on the driver side door about a foot big.

went for a few estimates, finally went with someone who was charging $300 cash. its a lot of money, but it was worth it (plus it was cheaper than bail and lawers if i would have actually caught the person doing it and killed them.) you cant even tell it was scratched. there was no way that i would have been able to do it myself.

If you can grab the scratch with your nail, its deep.

Try to wet sand it first with 1500 grit. Then polish it out with some Menzerna Super Intensive Polish using a rotary...

Duplicolor make a nice little kit from what I've seen on the box. I haven't used it but I have seen and fixed major chips before. You have to take your time building up the paint so that it is raised a bit over the rest of the paint. Wet sand it with some 1200, then 1500, and 2000 for best results till its perfectly smooth. Polish it up and you'll be amazed.
