Post some pictures.
When I re-painted my '00 GLE wheels, there was a thick grey primer or powdercoat under the silver paint that the aircraft stripper didn't affect at all. I sanded it for awhile but didn't make any headway, so I just repainted over it. I'm curious as to how you're getting through it. Sandblast or a power sander or something more aggressive?
I always thought the wheels that were just brushed aluminum or polished aluminum with no paint maybe just a wax or clearcoat looked really good.
