ok so i have a greasy @$$ head...

Now my driver side headrest has a big shiny grease spot and I can't get rid of it I tried scrubbing with Lexol leather cleaner which is what I use on my seats with no success anybody got any ideas on how to get rid of it?

p.s. I shave my head so that's why grease transfers from my head to the headrest.

I will post a pic when I get home.

Hmm, Mr Clean is bald too which is why you should try the Magic Eraser.

sounds simple but try hot soapy water first.

The eraser on leather...I would advise against that unless you've tried it and had good results. That sponge is dangerous if used incorrectly...could take the top layer right off, exposing rough leather to staining...!!!

Lmao now that's just stupid! You know very well those spots are too low to be greasy head stains! lol

And the magic eraser sounds dangerous on leather not sure I wanna go that route unless you have actually had successful results like he said

Ive read successful results on another forum, all you gotta do is clean sensibly and apply protectant after your done. test in a hidden area first.

Meguiar's makes a diluted solution called APC+ (All Purpose Cleaner Plus) that works really well on leather and also has grease fighting abilities. I would try that with a leather brush.

Used it before on the leather in my Z. Used properly, it works great. Took all the dirt buildup right off of my seats and made them look good as new.

Just hit it with leather cleaner/sealer afterward.

I have the same problem...

This looks like a pretty extinct thread -- but I just found it in the process of searching this problem. I have the exact same issue -- shaved head. And it doesn't seem to matter how oily I "think" my head feels -- just touching the charcoal leather headrest leaves a slick spot. I've tried lexol, mild soap and water, and some other leather wipes. Even if I can get most of it, I can still see a faint ring. And it reappears quickly after a drive or two. My Maxima is a 2010 with only 7K miles, so it's not like it's had a lot of wear and tear. I'm very skeptical about magic erasers on leather -- I tried it in an Infiniti once and it caused problems in the leather's color. If anybody has any new ideas, love to hear them. Also, I wondered about some kind of unobtrusive cover for the head rest to protect against this -- unobtrusive being the prime directive. It's not like you want to advertize to your friends that you have an oil head!

Try water and Woolite mixed 3:1. Super safe and quite effective on leather. Most pro detailers use it for cleaning. Just put it in a spray bottle, spray the area requiring cleaning, agitate with toothbrush (soft bristle) or other soft brush if needed, let it sit for a few seconds, then wipe with a damp microfiber. Reapply whatever leather protectant you use afterwards. If you want to ere on the cautious side you should test on an inconspicuous area first. Hope it works.

As far as a cover goes, good luck. I guess you could just where a hat while driving.
