software for reading dynoes

when i got my car dynoed i asked the tech to save the runs on a floppy disk. however my computer doesn't seem to recognize the dyno run (.wfm files) that are on the floppy.

what program do i need to be able to read this type of file?

thanks.

it's some sort of database file. I would call the company and see what they use...

If it was a DynoJet dyno (pretty common), I know they have free dyno run viewer software available on their website.

Steve, I got my .WMF files and I can view it with my standard picture viewer, but I cant view it with the DynoJet viewer. Is this not the right type of file i presume?

Wrong files. Mo did the same thing to me at first. He put Windows Media Files (WMF) saved as a picture. I went back and got the corect files. Ask him to save the raw data files, they are usually numbered, like xxxxxxx.001 etc.

Same thing happened to me. Mardi is correct. I asked Mo for the DATA(not pictures) I got files with the proper extension .001, .002, etc.. The free dyno software could read those types of files.

However, the free dynojet reader software has some limitations. For example, you can only compare 3 runs at a time which is not bad, but more would be better especially when manually plotting the HP nd TQ numbers into Excel. Is there an automated way to do this plotting? I was hoping that the raw data file would contain numeric data that I could paste into Excel.

I'll be posting my MEVI dyno numbers that I plotted using this software sometime soon.

actually he does have it. he saves all the dynoes he does. in fact, we compared your dyno to mine when I went for my first dyno back in Nov. I got my car dynoed yesterday and your original dyno is still in his computer.

give Marken a call and i'm sure they can download it to a floppy for you.
