2002 dyno with headers

Hey guys,

I went up to bristol dyno yesterday for a dyno day and ran my 2002 Maxima SE 6MT.

Mods: Hotshot Headers, Frankencar intake.
Gas: 89oc
Gear: 4th

SAE Correction= 1.02
Max power = 231.33
Max Torque = 239.79

The runfiles can be found here.
http://www.bristoldyno.com/vehicles/...ma/Ross_James/
Video of run here
http://www.2point8t.com/Maxima/233whp.mpg

I would appreciate it if you guys could check out the runs, and see how they look.

Thanks
James

Dude, those numbers are AWESOME for just Headers and Intake. Get SAFCII and tune that AF to get more power.

Thanks guys

Has anyone taken a look at my a/f ratios from the run files? I really don't know what is good or bad.

Most want an AF around 13 and it should be FLAT as possible.

Definatly. I was kind of anxious waiting for my run. I know that the headers are a proven power adder, but in the back of my head I was worried something was wrong. I was definatly excited to see these numbers.

*flame suit on*

Btw, dyno-noob question - why is it that the first run appeared to have a smoother curve than the second run? Is that a reflection of variance/irregularity in the AF mix at different engine speeds?

just curious, did you move the o2 sensors during the install or ditch em for simulators?

....and yes for the hundredth time why are you running 89...if i lived anywhere that had 92+ i'd be happy and would never even consider anything less

Theres no point in moving the secondaries when you can simulate them for 35 bucks. I wired the o2 sim under the engine cover so everything looks completly stock. I just need to figure out where Im going to permenently mount the 02's in the engine bay.(need to still be connected for the heater circuit.)

James

P.S. I begain running 89 when the prices went high. I dont mind paying the 20 cents extra for premium, but around here they started doing huge jumps between grades. I'll go back to it again some time, and re dyno. I would be really interested to find out how much of a difference it makes.

It does absolutely nothing for 4k+, but causes a loss of 12-15 ft/lbs from 3-4k ..

What causes a loss? It not being hooked up?

go to www.bristoldyno.com
go to the database
Step 1 I believe to download the viewer.

If anyone can post up the graph that would be great.

i wasn't able to view file's but you want your afr to be a straight line as much as possible anyways and you want it to be between 12.5-13.5. not sure but im guessing with the headers your probably around 11 just a guess though. get an safc II and tune that car. i have those same #'s minus headers with my safc II with an I/Y/E and i saw a good improement with the safc. i would almost say you will be in the 240's with the safc.

Right, that's why I want to reinstall it. 3-4k is alright, but after that it shoots forward.

By leaving it alone, as is, no vacuum to it, you kill low end and have mediocre high end .. But 'tying' it 'open' you're annihilating your high end.

Is the valve flap vertical or horizonatal ...

And yes, I DO see that they're both posted in the thread. I jus wanna make sure I understand how the program works & kno it's workin right after spending my precious 2 min. to dl n intall it.

Thanx much.

If you look at the graph in the viewer you should see Horsepower on the left. On the right axis you can click the button and pick torque. It should throw up the other graph.
