Stock 5th gen muffler?
Alright I posted this in the ALL MOTOR forums as well...I wanna see if anyone from the DYNO forums have anything to say about this....here it goes
Would a stock 5th gen muffler provide sufficent exhaust flow for an NA maxima? I'm not talking about cams, pistons or cranks.....just your typical bolt ons like headers, afcII, and intake...I'm wondering what loses you will see on the dyno with a stock muffler versus an aftermarket muffler....anybody on here have a back to back run dyno? The reason why I ask is cuz I might be getting rid of my cattman axle back and returning to stock...and would like to know what kinda loses I might be seeing....thanks in advance!

I am doing the same thing, I would also like to know... I just purchased an 02 Muffler from BlackBirdVQ so no matter what it is going on the car; I am really sick of the noise from the cattman since I installed headers.

i wanted my car to sound like steven88 but i think the noise will annoy the **** out of me as my DD. and cattman has the decent GD price. guess i'll just get the b pipe for now..

If I had the time to properly sound deaden I would keep it, it sounds really good from outside the car. I will miss the deep grumble it has...
I just want a quick fix.

Well I installed the 02 muffler the other day (thnks BlackBird) and the trust worthy buttdyno tells me everything is good. No loss of power felt, if I did lose power it is very minimal and worth giving it up. The sound is SO MUCH quiter.

Yeah I was running Cattman, I still have the cattman B-Pipe on. Honestly I really dont feel much of any difference, I think if you are going to find a power loss, you will need a dyno to prove it and it will be minimal if there at all.

nice! Makes me more confident in switching up my setup in the future...headers and full catback is LOUD! I wanna go back stock so I can sound like a g35...upstate, how does the car sound now?

I would nat say it is a G35 sound, it gives the maxima its own sound. It is nice and aggressive, deep tone and when you step on it you know it is not a stock car.

Nice, I as well am going with a full bolt on minus the muffler... keeping it stock at the rear sounds fine, plus I have a test pipe which honestly makes the muffler sound similar to G35 with my ypipe.
Steven88, you have a test pipe, correct?
