Thanks guys. Yo that FMIC looks SICK! Im gonna have to delay the piping for it though. Gotta handle personal business tomorrow, and Monday I have work morning and afternoon, then school at nite, so I wont be able to work on it really until Tuesay after work. But at least the hard part is done.

The point is that MAYBE, there will be an intercooled 6-7psi dyno next week . I dont think I'll be able to go passed that on the Walbro 190.

Are you going to keep running the Holset? The ST Z guys are making 550-600 whp on quite a bit fewer than 22 PSI.

here's my report, lol.

Like all boosted people dread (especially turbo guys), I ran into my first road block....

BOOST LEAK!

Spent the whole freakin day tracking it down. After finding a 2 small leaks, I think I got it narrowed down to the MAF housing itself. The adapter at the front 1st of all was plastic, and with time it was warped bet'n the bolts, so i was leakin right there but since it was before the MAF sensor itself, car drove fine. So i changed it to an Aluminum adapter, but one of my MAF-Adapter bolts wasnt long enough to reach to the other side (random bolts), so right now only 3 bolts are holding it.... yea thats a leak, lol.

W/e, tomorrow Im gonna put on that last bolt, and also Im going to lay a new bead of either jb weld or epoxy on the glued part of the housing (just to completely rule out the MAF as a factor).

Other than that... the FMIC looks mean as hell! I <3z it, lol

lol yea i know. Its getting there tho.

Its not that turbos break things on your car, its that it forces the driver to make their cars TOUGHER lol

is it possible to weld some of your piping together instead of using couplers, I know you can not weld the maf but maybe in other area's.

that is something I will DEF do in the close future. For now its just a matter of getting it all to work and make sure all is good. The little things will soon come.

I changed MAF housings with streetz' 3" MAF (since he so forgetfully left at my house a few days ago ). Idle vacuum is back down to what it was initially (23-24in). So Im just gonna take a shower and head out for a test drive. If it holds boost, I'll tune with nismology... if it doesnt, I guess I'll go to work early and pissed, lol

Now with nitrous, I just install the bottle and flip a switch....

Of course I did find a couple of Holset turbos that looked pretty good.... eBay has so many shiny car toys there. I'll admit that the tailpipe-turbo mod looks good to me - less trauma under the hood. Except for the EU, I'm tempted. You Florida guys are having way too much fun with them.

Oh, we just got another 8" of snow last night, so no road time for me. Maybe in April....... maybe...

oh crap!!! i thought i had taken it home and was looking for it!!! after you tune. GIVE!!!!!!! I WANTS lol. j/k u can tune n do all u need. just dont break it lol.

edit: let me also note, my personal experience, i dont like tuning with a different maf, so if your going to leave your tune using my maf, but put ur maf on later on. you might wanna check your a/f to see if its the same. Since we both have home depot MAF's and there can be slight variables in design. etc..

No new #s unfortunately, but you want a report? I'll give you a report!!!! lol

I could talk about my ordeal with finding the leaks that took me all freaking day, about how i bypassed the IC tubing to rule out stuff, to how I removed the BC to rule out that, about how I need to change out all my clamps over the 3" sections of piping to T-bolt because I kept blowing couplers, about how all freaking day if it werent for the presence of Panda_1 I would have called it a day and bought a 6pack of Amberbock (LOLOL, yea at that point beer would have fixed the boost leaks, LOL), etc...

Or I can just keep it short and simple...

and gladly say that I am fully intercooled, pushing just over 5psi on 3rd gear (so 4th gear thats an easy hair under 6psi basically). A/F was no leaner than 11.0:1 during that run. I put back some fuel throughout the powerband, since 4th gear would easily cause my a/f to increase to 11.3-which is still fine but Im just not as comfortable with it.

But from what Panda_1 felt, and from what I noticed... that 1.0-1.5psi increase of boost (of course its not a HUGE difference) but its very much noticeably faster .

Turbo FTW!

I bought 5 T-Bolt clamps today to replace my worm clamps on the 3" piping section of the tubing. The 2" pipes/ clamps are not giving me any issues.

Gonna put them on soon as I get out of work, then Im off to really testing it... then up the b000st!!!

Alan there's gonna be more changes than just a "bumping it up" change . a BIG change. Whole powercurve is gonna change, tune is gonna have to be re-done, and Im gonna have to find a local place that does Aluminum welding...

HOPEFULLY it can be done by the big march meet
