Im talking about reliable power though, im sure I can push my built motor to yield 800whp in one dyno pass if I have the fuel for it, but daily driving i would blow something. It has become a standard to not boost over ~400hp on 3.5's, and thats for a reason.

If I had a built motor I wouldnt run less than 550 ever and wouldnt be satisfied with anything under 650 on high boost. Thats just me and one reason why Im still N/A.

depends really. If you are putting down over 400whp thats pushing a lot of power, If you want to DD that kind of power in most cases a VQ35 wont need a build but but like to be on the safe side. With a good tune it will do it all day everyday.

lol this argument is derailing this thread.

Hopefully I get my nitrous switch fixed and we can line up. It would be a pretty good race.

For 400 hp thats not impressive. Dont you just love FWD?

But you did hit 88 mph in the 1/8. If the flux capacitor was on you could have traveled time and made a record breaking pass!

an 88mph @ 1/8 mile is not bad. it lets me know if i hook and shift like i hate my gears i will make a pb breaking pass

Its a joke. I wasnt trying to knock you. My point is you can have all the power in the world but it dont mean **** with FWD. You'll never hook like RWD or AWD so times will be slower. It takes skills to launch and I sure as hell dont have them. Ive never had a 60' time quicker than 2.2.

88 mph is funny though. srsly. Back to the future is the best movie evar!

Hubcentric rings and extended studs are over rated. lol
Just tech the car with street tires then throw the slicks on after you get teched.

I'm learning more and more about tuning since owning a G8 GT now and I can't imagine what kind of numbers these Maximas would get if we had easily programmable ECUs. I can go out and buy a program called HP Tuner Pro and go to town on my G8. They even have classes around the country to teach you how to tune.

Congrats on the numbers!!!

Thanks guys. I planned to tune and track the car next month but I popped another z32 maf during a "test run" last week. Im going to reinforce the maf with silicone and zipties when i get a chance then borrow a local members home made psi tester to make sure it can hold 25 psi..

The top square part of the maf pops up? I fixed it by opening it then using epoxy for plastic and holding it shut with zipties for a few hr. Then put epoxy all over the outside. I have a thread about it.

Yeah we did that with the first one. but i belive the first maf gives false readings so im going to try and stick with the second maf. I dont want to buy another z32maf since my next setup will have a ford maf.
