Good to see you back Elon.

Strong #'s with even more potential based off of that AFR. Any timing logs for that run?

Nice for just a TS ecu, you would really benefit from a Utec or Haltech.

Agree!!! You'd probably get about 10-20whp more depending on mods and whether you used a UTEC or a Haltech. You'd get a better tune and more power with Haltech due to it just being a better unit and able to control camshaft timing. Sweet numbers though!

Also, his TS is an L-Spec, not the F-Spec. So, stock IVT's, unlike the F-Spec which gives the Z33's curve, and obviously the AFR is in bad shape.

Would like to see timing runs of this dyno.

It's been so long since I ran that, I'd have to dig back thru my files to see if I captured any Cipher logs of the timing.

I headed to the dyno Saturday, and they had too many cars ahead of me so I was pissed. He said they had an opening, but ended up being a 100mi + trip for nothing. But I did manage to take my laptop along and did a few WOT runs, and my timing is not as high as I'd like it so hopefully I still have some potential for even further gains once the UTEC goes in.

I was maxing out at about 28º up above 6000 or so.

L-specs rev to 7100 not 7500. That's a tach error...my car does the same thing. That 7500 is actualy 7100.

You request whatever you want. SR20DEN had an L_spec, but he asked for 7.5k.

I asked for 7.2k, and they give you 7.1k out of the box.

Tach error is different than the dyno, since the dyno is actually getting the signal off the coil pack, same goes for SAFC, etc.

Tach says 7400 for me, even though its about 7100 or so.

Tach fail...

I kno that....but he said 7500 rev limit and his dyno stops at 7100. I've had 2 TS ecu's and they both did the same thing. Every 5.5 I've been in does it and none of them asked for a rev limit over 7200 and the needle goes wayyyy past that. We all know anything past 7200 on a stock head and oil pump = a dead motor

Oh yeah ... our tachs are horridly off. When Matt did his dyno, his tach was at 8k.

I specifically asked for 7.5k when I got my L-spec ECU upgrade, guess I got shafted on it. I think i will do a few rev limit pulls on the street and record with Cipher to see where it stops at.

Sucks you drove all the way to ABQ to not dyno.

I think I got shafted on too, that 7205 is the highest its ever gone since I've recorded it. I always see the dyno bounce at around 7100 or so, and i specifically also asked for 7200. Either way, better than stock.

Yes, I have another trip on Wednesday out there so hopefully they get me in, but if they don't at least I wont be taking the trip up there for nothing since I actually have business there that day.

Went with the LRMAF, got a 3.5" intake tubing, and the crazy manifold, that's about it.

I have a UTEC that I haven;t installed so once I get playing with that i can add that to the "added mods list". My UTEC will only serve to hone in on a happy AFR and I'd like to add about 3-5º timing throughout.

Not one for excuses, but the car was quite warm and the weather here has been unseasonably warm also, and so that 28º could have been a result of all of that.

Here's my old run of timing (cool night):

I don't have my most recent one graphed, but it was about the same except it was scaled down and only reached 28º.

I was wondering what the heck was wrong with my tach. I guess I was not trippin. I messed around oneday and it was past redline and not hitting rev limiter.....then I found out that tach is all screwed up.....scrared me because I thought something was wrong with the car......LOL. I'm getting my revs raised to 7k for my build...still on stock valve springs. So I guess 7500rpm would be around 8k on the tach then?? LOL....thats insane.
