The 5.7 gen Maxima Latest dyno= 301.58HP 277.27 TQ Closed cutout, stock cams.....

Yeah its real.

WHY AM I THE ONLY 5.7 gen????????????????

Enough with the dyno's, its time to get this 5.7 Gen on the track now!

STD= 301.58 / 277.27

SAE= 294.99 / 271.22

This is with a 4" intake setup!

Also with the stock cattman ypipe, which i beleive hurt power quite a bit. I'm undecided if putting other ypipe back on or not. Id rather have a whole new header setup.

Red is todays run. Blue is last time best run.

Changes from then to now is stock cattman ypipe. and 4" intake. and tuning.

ill post more of my findings tomorrow ( was on the dyno for 4 hours, done a ton of pulls) but short run is 4" intake pipe, a must. tuning cam timing a must , and AFR 12.8-13.0 is not where my motor makes most power.

3.5" intake vs 4"

This is old run, 15 is 3.5 intake with unequal length ypipe.
Run 39 is 3.5 intake with stock cattman ypipe but with a lot better tuning.

I beleive the unequal length ypipe on this better tune would make more power. BUT it makes the car sound totally different, very loud , it gets old very quick. But the bigger size piping is def worth some hp.

Whats really needed is some better headers in general tho. These are way to short and small.

Cam timing tuning. Messed around a little. 20 21 is Intake adjustments only, 23 is exhaust adjusted also.

Had great gains, at 5500 rpm 11hp and 10ftlbs.

CAM timing ONLY. WHAT are YOU TUNED WITH? //////////////////

haha that's not why i post!

I post to show the 09 motor swap is the way to go! Its been allmost a year and im still the only one.

I want there to be a lot of cars like this. I REALLY want someone to put a set of aggressive cams in this motor!

This forum is about sharing info and helping others out. Not about having a one up on another Maxima. That's just stupid and I will not stand for it.

Ive never been to the track, so any fast cars don't worry about my track times. Well for now

Yeah, its pretty safe to say its Maxed out now. Without changing something major (cams, headers, intake) i don't see much more power.

Maybe when the price of those engines drop there will be more lol. That's a lot of dough to drop...considering for not much more you could have a pretty decent turbo setup.

But all things aside those are awesome numbers. I'm definitely curious to see what kind of 1/4 mile times that could turn.

Wow!

What are the sizes of the cattman y pipe and your other y pipe?
And what AFR does your motor make the most power at?

Hopefully the price of the goes down even more. I would love to pick one up later down the road and see what it can hold with f/i.

But not bashing on you or the swap since I think it is great but the reason I think personally that people have not done the swap is due to the price of the complete package. When you factor in the motor, the headers ( not needed but are a good idea ) haltech, and etc the price of the swap goes up very quickly.

BTW any pictures of your new intake set-up and any dyno run vids?

I said the faster I hit the hay, the faster I'lll be on here to see this in detail.

Wow, that's the only words to describe this journey. Cripes, a 4" intake, that's insane, but, again, outside the box from conventional thinking, something that is always welcomed. This is MAFLESS, correct, so, obviously no MAF housing debacle, and probably smoother tuning due to the nature of a MAP sensor.

I would also like to see what AFR and timing (static, non VVT) curves were used to achieve that.

What I've seen/found, less timing @ torque peak seems to be the ticket, but, I have no control over mine, it's just the way my curve(Timing) is (lowest timing @ peak torque #).

Can't wait to hear/see details!

Thanks fro sharing all the info Darren, it's priceless.

Daaaaaaammmmmnnnn!!!!!!!!

Any thoughts on how the internals would like it if you revved it out to 7500? That thing would stay in the ~300hp powerband at every shift. (Actually, it probably does already with the 6 speed) I wonder where the power starts to fall off.

Correct me if I am wrong but I remember darren saying that the oil-pump would be an issue with revving the motor higher.

As always, thanks for sharing and doing this.

4'' ftw. I'm going to get one on order and use this for the maf: http://www.treadstoneperformance.com...+Hitachi+Style I'll probably add the Add honeycomb airflow straightener even if it kills a hp or three. Not sure how it installs in the tube though...better not just be a square piece of screen cut out.

How long is the intake tube to the filter?

It looks like the cams are holding the engine back after 5.7k. I bet you would gain 30 whp with some aggressive cams, you know you want some C9s...I would love to see it rev'd out to 8k on C9s...should be insane and sounds amazing as well.

So basically around 5k or a little less to do this swap with Hal emu right? Engine 2kish delivered, hal $2000, wire harness and misc stuff $500-$1000.

Buy an 80'' tv or 300whp maxima. decisions decisions...

edit: Why did you change y pipes? I would love to see a dyno now with the 3'' unequal length Y and see the difference.
