Signature rules?

What happened to my signature? Someone put "animated sigs not allowed plus too big" what does that mean and where did it come from? I mean seriously I have had the same signature for about 5 months and have posted at least 200 times since I got it. I don't really understand the issue. The size of the image was realitively small and had a water reflection. There are pics that take up the whole screen that are not removed nor should they be and you have animated smiles and avitars that are not removed on this site. Is there some rule that I broke in using an animated signature and if so is there any way to get this rule changed to accomidate the 21st century. I don't know even 1 person with dialup. So loading pages should not be an issue. Please address this, I am pretty sure I am not the only one ticked off about such a pointless rule. This is from Forum Faqs

What are signatures?

'Signatures' contain information that you want to include at the bottom of all your posts. This might include pictures, links to your site(s), quotes, etc.

1 - CALM DOWN...it's only the internet...it's only your sig.
2 - keep in mind i didn't edit your sig but most likely your sig is/was too big and a mod had to change it.
3 - you got away with it for 5 months...what can i say? we can't get every sig that's out there the day a member adds it.
4 - ok the for other sigs we'll get to them in due time just like we got to you 5 months later.
5 - i have to find the rules but they are out there.
6 - sure you do not have dial up...does that mean we need to screw everyone else that's on a slower connection? how about the folks with PDAs? they can't visit the forum on the road? maybe their service is a little slow than your broadband/T1/T3/Fiber/etc.
7 - YOU feel it's pointless...but we don't. You are visiting a privately owned site for free. I hate to say it but we make the rules here. it's not a vote it's not a majority rule. If you do not agree with the terms and conditions you're more than welcome to leave to make your own forum and allow sigs that are animated and take up the entire page.
8 - yes the forum FAQs defines what a sig is.

The rules are not perfect but we would like to give everyone a fair chance to go to this forum and be able to visit w/o loading massive sigs. sure there's a way to turn it off but people might want to see a sig and not want to wait for it to load.

Your reply was extremely pointless. If I wanted someone to tell me the reason we did it was because we wanted to, not because I failed to follow a rule, I would not have said a word. I do understand this site is free to access, however it is people like me who contribute to this site and help others out with their problems, that makes this website successful and exist. If you are concerned about others accessing this site on their pda/cell phones then reduce the amount of advertisments about buying ford fusions and other crap we care less about. My feedback/suggestion is legitimate and should be addressed with a little more understanding and less sarcasm. As for the size of my sig, it was smaller than the size of your reply to my feedback.

if you feel my reply is pointless then i feel that you crying about your sig is pointless.

i don't think you understand that this site is free. yes thank you for contributing 1238 posts in 4 years i don't know what we would have done without your posts.

If you are concerned about others accessing this site on their pda/cell phones then reduce the amount of advertisments about buying ford fusions and other crap we care less about.
i have no control over that...i'm trying to give you reasons why sigs are limited in size and bandwidth size but you refuse to understand and you're just upset about what happened to you and is playing the victim role.

My feedback/suggestion is legitimate and should be addressed with a little more understanding and less sarcasm.
it's not feedback or suggestion...it's called a complaint..."someone took my sig away" that's a complaint...not a suggestion.

As for the size of my sig, it was smaller than the size of your reply to my feedback.
once again i didn't remove your sig but i stand behind the actions of the moderators here.

Here are the rules....
http://forums.maxima.org/general-max...ture-pics.html
let me point out...
Also, NO LARGE FILE SIZES OR ANIMATED SIGS. These will simply be deleted
ok how about this...we'll remove your sig privileges on the forum (yes having a sig is a privilege). so there will be no drama on what size or anything...you just won't have one.

i'm trying to be understanding but it's only a sig...you're making this out to be a federal case for a sig being removed in your posts.

so i ask you...what's the big deal that your sig was removed?

you let me know how you want me to proceed here.

because ads = money and money = this site can still exist. how many free sites do you really think would be able to exist w/o ads? probably not very many. Like facebook... without ads, it would probably be taken down in just a few days.

i stand corrected and informed. sig has been resized and is non animated. as for my suggestion, it seems to have been answered before i asked. on a side note i contribute as much as i can. 1200 posts in 4 years is pretty good for someone who only has access to a computer half the year. i appologize for being arrogant, just couldn't find the rule and didn't understand the logic behind the decision to remove it without explanation or warning.
