Thanks feedback

Hey Folks,

I think we ought to have a thanks button at the end of each post at the bear minimum to pass an easy "thanks you" to a members contribution.

Second me if you feel the same.

i'm stuck in b/w yes and maybe....a rep button-yea....a thank you button on other forums is okay, but on maxima.org-NO

i can almost guarantee most people here aren't going to take the thanks button seriously...and I somewhat agree with chrome91...i don't pay much attention to the thanks bar either but i do pay attention to rep bars especially when i'm looking to buy something posted on here by a member

i cant trust rep bars, a local forum im on allows positive and negative rep and people absolutely troll with it and give you random negative rep and just right stuff life "f**k you Dbag" even if you post good info, and it doesnt show who gave you the rep

a forum i used to be on got so sick of negative rep trolling that they disabled it and only allowed positive rep

am on another forum too but over there members/users don't abuse rep like that....though some of it was just useless, most of the rep that i've come across so far were positive...when i rep someone, i make sure i do it because they've really been helpful towards solving a problem or making an important decision

IMO if enough people agree, they should change the poll to four options:
-REP button
-thanks button
-both
-neither

no/neither.

been here long enough to know that there would be abuse/lack-of-use for either (primarily by newbies). for example, there is a thread rating option, but I rarely see it used.

also on another forum that uses "points" that are randomly calculated by something, and I can't make heads or tails of what it means.

Good idea . But i don't think it possible to change a poll option without stating a brand new poll all together

Does it REALLY add value to the forum?

Even if the vote/poll was yes i doubt it'll even go.
