Gear oil. You need it specific to your make and model car.

less money- get regular GL-4 gear oil(make shure its GL-4 and not gl-5)

more money- redline mt-90 or amsoil with the similar weight

I was faced with a similiar decision about a month ago when I swapped trannies, and I decided to use Amsoil.

One thing to realize, Amsoil 75w90 is GL-4 Certified, while the 75w140 is not. They both have the Limited Slip additive included so you dont need to worry about that.

I'd say overall a Majority of the board uses the Redline MT-90 Gear oil.

Just out of curiosity, where did you hear the 75W-140 isn't GL4 certified? It actually would be safe to use from a GL4 standpoint, but is WAY too thick to go in a gearbox for the Maxima. It's really for the rear ends of heavy trucks or vehicles that do extensive towing.
