how much oil?

I have a 98 Max and I change my oil myself. When I do I put 4 1/4 quarts in....I also change the filter every time. I took my car to Jiffy Lube once and they told me my model Max only called for 3.5 quarts of oil....I was just wondering which is the right amount? Like I said I do change the filter every time I change the oil. I know I can check it until I get to the right level but I am just wondring what should the right level be? Thanks.

check your dipstick for the most accurate results

i usually put in about 4 quarts and after driving around, I then add the other .25 quarts

I've found the dipstick on my 92 and 2k3 to not be very acurate. I follow the instructions in my owner's manual and stick with that, and use the dipstick as more of a general measure once the recomended amount of oil is in.
