Here's one that I'm got me perplexed on the 5th gen maxima. Traditionally cars with automatic tranny, the fluid is usually red with a sweet smell. My 5th gen maxima looks clear with a strange smell. I check with my owner manual to see what fluid do they really use, it says Nissan ATF fluid. Nothing is wrong with my tranny, I like to check my fluids that I have 24k miles. When the 30k mile mark comes, that's when it's due for the first fluid change. Does this strike you odd on that with the color of the fluid?

The only absolutely clear fluid that should leak out from under your car should be air-conditioning condensation which is pure H2O. Transmission fluid is red.

It's not leaking, I was checking the fluid on the dipstick.
