steering fluid

Do you folks use transmission fluid to replace your steering fluid? Is it safe?

If so, what type of transmission fluid do you use?

i think its the other way around. power steering fluid is AT transmission fluid.

the maxima uses ATF for power steering fluid. i have changed mine out use some old napa ATF i had on the shelf, but it would be better to use synthetic ATF. such as mobil 1, redline, amsoil, etc...
i have taken 1 quart out over a 1.5 month period. i followed the directions that are in hte how to written by motorvate; how to's link is in my sig
